Little Falls
Located in Passaic County, Little Falls, NJ was named after the Passaic River Waterfall which was created from the Beattie Mill Dam. The Beattie Carpet Mill was the main source of employment for Little Falls but was closed many years ago. The all brick structure located by the “Falls” was renovated and converted into attractive condominiums with views overlooking the river and falls, and thus appropriately named “The Mill”. The historic Morris Canal, connecting the Delaware and Hudson rivers runs through Little Falls and the areas surrounding the canal have been preserved as historic sites and walking trails.
Little Falls is only 12 miles from NYC! Numerous NJ Transit train stations with public parking make this town an easy commute to the city. Small, one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants line East Main Street. The centerpiece of the tight knit community is Wilmore Park which hosts a farmers’ market, summer concerts, and holiday celebrations.
Public school students attend schools in Little Falls from pre-kindergarten through eight grade.
More than 80% of the Montclair State University campus, despite being named for the neighboring township, is in Little Falls.
